Rachel Glen

Early on Rachel knew she wanted to be a dance teacher and upon completing her A-levels quickly moved on to taking her first set of teaching qualifications with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.

Rachel has taught at many primary & secondary schools running one off workshops and breakfast dance clubs as well as spending a number of years teaching at Wolfson College, part of the University of Cambridge.

Rachel now has built up over 13 years teaching both children and adults. Training pupils not only socially but for examinations and competitions, all with outstanding results. Rachel still continues to broaden her skills by taking higher qualifications and attending regular courses and workshops.

Sheena Janssen

Since a child Sheena competed in area and national medal competitions in both disco freestyle and ballroom and latin until she headed off to dance college. Sheena trained at the The Centre PAC in musical theatre where she worked hard to gain her teacher qualifications.

Since graduating, Sheena has had the privilege to dance and to travel the world, in India dancing Bollywood and performing in massive live award shows. In South America dancing in a circus! performing in many different hotels in Greece and travelled to Italy to perform in dance shows.

Since returning to England Sheena has been teaching PE dance in a number of primary schools across Cambridgeshire and teaching ballet to young children.  She has been an invaluable member of Aspire Dancesport since September 2020.

  1. Tracy Aggett Says:

Hi, thank you for taking the time to read this email.

Home-Start is a leading family charity supporting parents and children when they are struggling on their journey of life – either from depression, mental health issues, drug and alcohol issues, isolation, sick children, autism, bereavement, domestic violence, etc. We provide trained volunteers to visit the family every week for 2-3 hours to offer practical and emotional support.

We are organising a strictly for charity fundraising event to raise funds for us to continue to provide this service to our local families. Unfortunately we receive no statutory funding and therefore have to raise £189,000 this year.

Here are the details of the event:

    Date – Saturday 12 March 2022
Venue, KJAR senior school site, Garden Walk, Royston, Herts – rehearsal at 3pm for an hour – event runs from 7pm in the evening

We are looking for professional dancers, both female or male dancers, to be partnered with a celebrity non dancer. We have our 12 non dancers signed up and they are eagerly waiting to be matched. Once matched, the professional and non-dancer decide on a dance style, chose the music for a dance to last for 90 seconds to 2 minutes at the event.

All dancers will receive a free supper on the night. There will be a bar and non-dancers will be supported by their family and friends.

We have 4 judges and we have a glitter ball trophy for our winner.

Professional dancers would need to meet up with their partner on a regular basis to learn the routine from November through to March at a convenient time to both parties. Also a practice at 3pm at KJAR site on 12 March, 2021.

We are eager to get the dancers matched, so if you are able to help with this by providing some professional dancers, we would be so very grateful to you and your company.

We look forward to hearing from you and thank you again for your time in reading this email.

Take care – you can call me any time to discuss this – or pass my number to anyone who may be interested in taking part in this fun event – 07815 148022
